CHINA PRINT Visited Heidelberg at drupa 2016

On the second day at drupa 2016, the Organising Committee of CHINA PRINT visited Hall 1 where Heidelberg has its booth in, and had a very close meeting with Mr. Rene Ludvigsen, CEO of Heidelberg Asia Pacific, Mr. Benny HUANG, CEO of Heidelberg China, and Ms. Emily SA, Public Relations and Corporate Event Manager of Heidelberg China.

CHINA PRINT has always been seen as the strategic partner of vital importance by Heidelberg, the comprehensive cooperation covers the fields from the design of the theme, the overall plan of the booth, the organisation of professional visitors, to the concurrent events, training and coaching. In the next year, Heidelberg will continue to occupy a super-large exhibiting area and aim to deliver and showcase the latest solutions for the print industry at CHINA PRINT 2017.

“Simply Smart” was the motto of Heidelberg at drupa 2016, the focus was put on the integration and optimisation of nowadays much more internet-based printing process for printers, and the applicability and the productivity of presses, solutions and services. Heidelberg remained its booth in Hall 1 at drupa and shared the show area with its partners such as Fuji Film and Master Work.

Heidelberg will be concentrating on the foundation for digitized print media industry :  to integrate systems in pre-press, press and post-press for offset and digital print production, and also to integrate process in the print shop as well as the print shop towards print buyer; hence better utilising remote connectivity towards Heidelberg’s customer, the corresponding data pool and service network. The access to individual performance data in real time will also facilitate to collaborate and benchmark within Heidelberg community – these are the focal points Heidelberg has been and will be focusing on.

Regarding the showcase of the new technologies, the inkjet press co-designed by Heidelberg and Fuji Film no doubt attracted numerous attentions at drupa. The on-demand inkjet system is applied in the press, functioned as a digital front end it works under the connection with “Prinect” workflow.

The power of Prinect was gained a very good chance to be shown at drupa. Heidelberg has made an announcement on the co-publish workflow to remain automated. The new “speed estimator” is able to calculate the cost in management information services automatically. Besides, the design and calculation in the packaging workflow are also automatic and precise; hence shorter make-ready time for plate consuming and adjustment.

In the pre-press area, the automation of the CTP system has been significantly improved. The newly issued Auto Pallet Loader that can be applied to Supra Setter 106, 145, 162 and 190 ensures its non-stop operation, and this Loader nowadays had its first user – Berger Print Shop in Horn, Austria.

Together with Heidelberg to also show at drupa, there were Fuji Film, Polar, Steinemann, Stora Enso, Draabe and other related leasing agents.
